Polyvinyl acetal round enameled aluminum wire is an electromagnetic wire with aluminum as the conductor and a polyvinyl acetal resin insulation layer coated on the surface. Its round cross-section design is suitable for conventional winding needs, and the lightweight characteristics of aluminum conductors give it advantages in specific fields.
Material and insulation properties: The insulation layer uses polyvinyl acetal resin (such as formal PVF or acetal), and a polymer coating is formed through a condensation reaction. It has excellent dielectric strength (above 45kV/mm) and oil resistance, and is especially suitable for oil-immersed environments.
Conductor material: Aluminum wire replaces copper wire to reduce costs and weight, but the conductivity and mechanical strength are slightly lower than copper wire, which needs to be compensated by alloying or special processes.
Temperature resistance: The temperature resistance grade is 105℃ (E grade), the long-term working temperature is -40℃ to 105℃, and the heat shock resistance passes the 150℃/168h test, but the high temperature stability is weaker than polyester or polyimide enameled wire.
Outstanding oil resistance and high temperature hydrolysis resistance, suitable for oil-immersed transformers, but poor moisture resistance, need to avoid humid environment.
Mechanical properties: high dielectric strength (≥5kV), excellent voltage breakdown resistance, but the resistivity of aluminum conductor is high, and the cross-sectional area needs to be increased to match the current carrying capacity of copper wire.
The tensile strength of the paint film is above 300MPa, and it can withstand repeated bending tests with a radius of 1d-3d.
Application areas
1. Power equipment
Oil-immersed transformer: take advantage of its oil resistance, but aluminum wire requires special joint process to prevent electrochemical corrosion.
Low-cost motor: such as household appliances or small industrial motors, balance cost and performance requirements.
2. Limitations
Temperature resistance limits its application in high temperature scenarios (such as electric vehicle drive motors).
Aluminum wire welding is difficult and requires special solder and process.
